Indian gourd local( Tindora- Coccinea indica), cucurbit climber, tropical / subtropical 2 to 3 in. fruits. TC plantYields heavily

Indian gourd (Coccinea indica), locally known as Tondli or tindora, is an exotic vegetable grown all over India and neighboring countries of Asia. Plants are grown on trellis and they start fruit formation from 3rd month onwards. The fruits are long- 3 to 4 inch, with a thin dark green rind, soft pulp and few seeds. The fruits are used as a fresh vegetable for cooking, and various methods of cooking are practised in different regions.

The plant can not be propagated from seeds as they are not viable.Conventionally they are vegetatively propagated during restricted planting season,  and has limited success resulting in high input cost for  planting material.

Tissue culture derived plants assure super plants giving high quality fruit as they are super beares. The yields of TC plants are 30% or more than conventionally grown plants.Since the conventionally propagared plants have carry over diseases, yields go down over successive generations.TC plants are guaranteed for being disease free and hence are high  and early yielding.

Plants are supplied in either 98 cell plug trays or in polybags and they are easy to plant round the year, free from pests and disease and can be shipped across to any country with necessary permits. The plants are 2 to 6 inch tall, depending on what stage they are shipped.
